The Challenge

In 1987, a one-day-fun-in-the-sun performance lead to a 3-year engagement at Six Flag's Magic Mountain theme park for the then named 'Motor City Angels and The Backstreet Band'.  By 1990, and after a steady diet of classic Motown, the group changed it's named to 'Motor City Magic' and landed a very high profile gig, performing for Berry Gordy, Jr.'s 50th surprise birthday party. Oh what a night that would turn out to be! This high profile performance launched Motor City Magic into the national spotlight with follow-up performances for:  The Governor's Ball @The Emmy Awards, Apple Computers, BMW, Chrysler, Coca Cola, Toyota, DuPont, 20th Century Fox, Pepsi, Major League Baseball, The Million Man March, Paramount Pictures and many more high-ended clients.  Today, Motor City Magic is still performing 'top class' performances fit for the now and the next generation.  Call now for bookings.

"Motor City Magic performs the music of the 60s and 70s in a way that makes you wish that time could stand still."

--Patryce "Choc'let" Banks - Graham Central Station

Keeping the ol' school sound authentic, yet fresh enough for today's more diverse audience is a challenge. To fuse the gap between young and old Motor City Magic inserts exceptional younger talent into its veteran lineup. This fresher addition injects energy and serves as a teaching tool and legacy handoff to our next generation of perfomers.  If you know of an exceptional talent that has a special quality and character sound please let us know. They may meet Motor City Magic's performance standards. Visit our Contact page
